humble beginnings
Unlike many who lived in the shores of Whitecliff, not many were blessed with the gift of being born into the opulence and luxury of nobility, to the Matron of House Frel, Irene. Her mother and a woman who were favoured by the people for her deep respect for magic, politics and strong understanding of the needs of the commonfolk. Wishing for her daughter to be among them and understand their lifestyle to become a wise governer, the Matron sent her daughter and husband away within the city in secret and many believed that the daughter of Irene had died.Morrigan flourished well within the city, touching shoulders with other commoners and bearing their burdens as well as her own with the simple life she led. Her life was not easy and she grew up rather quickly with the things she saw between alleyways and shadows of the city. Many years into her childhood, control in the city began to de-stabilise and the laws, taxes and jobs began harder to bear. Many cried out to the Matron for action. The troubles began to cease for a time as a result. At the dead of night at the age of twelve, Morrigan was woken by her father who showed her to the Manor...
the illusion fades...
Presented to her mother, Morrigan began to interrogate her parents questions as the truth was finally unveiled: She was the Heiress of House Frel and will be the next in line to take Irene's place. The heiress denied her role in that moment, wishing to be among the people and cursing her for letting the city fall apart for a time. It was in that moment where Irene's madness was clear, her mind ravaged by the whisper of power granted by the Abyss. Before her father could take action, he was seperated from his daughter, forced back by his own wife while stranger took away the child he cherished as she grew. Morrigan was then locked away, far from the reaches of the world and her mother's machinations began.
a mother's sin
Obsessed with creating the perfect ruler to govern Whitecliff, Morrigan was imprisoned, locked away in a "gilded cage" of luxury within the dark reaches of the Manor. Despite being pampered and treated well, she went through rigurous training for her magic, tutoring for knowlege of politics, strategy, histories and so much more, equipping her with everything she needed to know or do. Her interactions with the outside world was limited, even restricted to speaking only with specific people within the Manor. Morrigan fought constantly for against her mother's machinations. Even though she has retained knowledge, grew her talents and power in magic, she purposely failed every test to dispute her claim to deny her nobleYet this irritated her mother further - She knew her daughter's prowess in the arcane and was well informed by many of Morrigan's tutors of her potential. No longer taking this disobedience any longer, Irene decided it was time for her plans to shift gears and take a different route.
a daughter's burden
At the age of fifteen, Morrigan was taken further deep into the Manor. No sunlight touched this place and only torches kept this dark place lit. That was when she came face to face with the hooded figures once again - And her nightmares began. She was experimented on constantly, her mind pried open to the darkness of the Abyss and runes carved unto her body in an effort to create a powerful sorceress. Her power grew substantially, yet Morrigan grew tired constantly trying to fight and resist the eldritch nightmares that haunted her. She was exhausted... Her mind slipping piece by piece over the years.Should she be consumed, the darkness would distort her, turning her into a monstrous creature having been fed to the shadows for too long. Yet in her fevered madness, Morrigan remembered her father and her simple life with him in the city. A simple girl with simple dreams and a small knack for magic. Her yearning for the past suddenly made her realise... These people gave her great power. A power she can use to escape.
backstory still wip...

duties in darkness
To combat the seeds of Abyssal Corruption her mother planted across Whitecliff, Morrigan made plans to keep it contained within their region and prevent its spread across the Empire. As a result, she prepared a faction of elite and loyal knights to her cause, sharing her poison of the Abyss among them. By sharing her haunted shadows with them, they are able to combat that encroaching darkness that threatens to the balance of their region and perhaps... the Empire and beyond.

Of Secrets & Shadows
After tearing a portal and allowing the "Crossing of the Abyss," by the Mad Matron, an invisible war begins between House Frel and the silent darkness. Taking responsibility for her mother's sin, the Lady established elite knights, a cloister of scholars and a secret society dedicated to hold back this gloom with no end in sight. And so, Morrigan's long life will be forever consumed by this conflict. Her very life guards the delicate secret of her family's original sin - and her silent vigil against the Abyss.

sins of the Mother
Betraying the entire region and her only daughter, Irene Frel was known as the "Mad Matron," driven to insanity and madness due to the influence of her experimentation of magic. While very few knew the truth of her allyship with the Abyss, it was known to the public that her maddening chase for power was what ended her reign of terror. The rebellion against her sent the Empire in a panic, questioning if Whitecliff's people might spark a revolution against the Imperial Family. Morrigan fought hard to secure her people's trust, safety and loyalty to the Empress, promising her undying loyalty to the Imperial Family and denying her mother's madness and act of tyranny.

burden of the daughter
Ladened by her mother's actions from the utter chaos that Whitecliff found itself in the wake of the rebellion, Morrigan took many years to earn back her citizens' trust. In their eyes, House Frel betrayed the people of Whitecliff and allowed crime gangs and poverty to ravage the region. Each interaction was delicate, each decision was carefully made with the people's opinion in mind. And behind closed doors, she continues to struggle against the influence of the Abyss as a victim of her mother's experiments. Abyssal entities that she created will soon consume the life that thrives in their world. And so Morrigan must continue to fight against the Abyss within herself and the shadows ravaging Whitecliff.
> a starry night
Beneath a canopy of stars, Morrigan finds herself studying them intently - Much more than usual. A haunted look graces her tired face until her faithful knight accompanies her with snacks and comfort as she reminisces about her complicated feelings of the late Matron of House Frel and the events that led up to the rebellion and her downfall.

revelations <
Morrigan is spending time noting some important documents that day. That was until she was visited by a well-known knight across the width and breadth of the kingdom, she is met by a sudden revelation from the knight, claiming that "black rabbits are a sign of bad luck."

> the chosen undead
Morrigan's role as the leading authority of the region of Whitecliff as the Lady of House Frel, many of her responsibilities span across the board. But the select few she personally attends to are illegal use of magic or violence that can risk the safety of her city. This was one such night where she crosses paths with The Chosen Undead.

my schedule
BUSY, BUSY, BUSY ✦ Before I get into this, I want to make it clear that I'm on UK, GMT 0 timezone! So chances are you might be interacting with me when I'm up late at night - please forgive my tired replies during that time! I try to be as active as I can on this account but truthfully, my activity is sporadic. If you wish to contact me at all, don't be afraid to reach out to me on Discord on vaisravanaaa.! Just please let me know who you are when you do.
important note

SLOW RESTART ✦ It has been some time since I've actually done writing on Twitter. I often write on Discord most of the time, so I apologise in advance if my writing or formatting is something different and not used often. In short, the quality of my replies may vary. I openly welcome some advice when writing. All I ask is for your patience and maybe even guidance to point me in the right direction.
writing style
MIRRORING ✦ Regarding how much I can write, I do my best to match your writing but at most, I try to do between two to three separate messages. Morrigan's story is still coming into fruition, so backstory is still rather loose for the moment to work with. If you wish to plan an interact beforehand, or ask me about my character, send me a DM and I'll be happy to figure something out with you.
favoured genres

CASUAL, BANTER, ANGST, DARK FANTASY ✦ Morrigan is mostly based on a verseless dark fantasy world. While I have concrete lore for her, I am happy to work with what you wish to plot. She is mostly suited to roles within circles of nobility or an unstable travelling sorceress. Whether it be light-hearted conversations or heated argument, my muse can be suited to most genres - Just feel free to DM me for any plotting ideas or interact with any of my starters!
triggers
GRAPHIC CONTENT ✦ While I understand dark themes can crop up within the in-betweens of fantastical worlds, I want to avoid anything taboo and graphic regarding bodily harm, sexual assault, transphobia, homophobia, human trafficking and any others along those lines. Horror written in a graphic manner is out of the question. I do not want anything close to body horror.
energy levels

SLEEPYHEAD ✦ Due to the nature of how tired I can be late at night or anything beyond the hours I'm used to ( I have a terrible sleep schedule ), I can usually sustain energy and attention for about three or so hours. Anything past that can be a strain for me mentally and would be preferable if we wrap up interactions by that time. Sometimes, it might be shorter especially late at night, so I ask for your patience when speaking with me at any time!
